ARTICLE X
SNOW DAYS

1. Custodians will report to their job assignments in the event students are dismissed from school due to inclement weather.

2. Evening shift custodians may report to work when students are dismissed and upon notification by the employer to report.

3. Custodians unable to report to work due to inclement weather shall be permitted one of the following options:

B. use of a vacation day.

C. While the employer does not favor the use of deduct days under normal circumstances, an employee may elect to take a deduct day on a snow day.

4. When the building principal is released from duty due to hazardous weather conditions, custodial employees will be released from duty for that day; provided, however, that this provision shall not apply to Class V employees where snow removal is required or to employees required to remain and maintain buildings.

Those employees, who provide services beyond the release of the building principal and beyond any repairs initiated prior to said release, shall receive compensation at the rate of 1 1/2 the regular wage rate.
