TRANSPORTATION

In the early days of Hobart, a stagecoach was the means of transportation over the land. The stagecoach route which went from Chicago to New York came through Hobart, along what we know as Old Ridge Road. The stages stopped here to get or leave mail, drop off or pick up passengers, and change teams of horses.
The stagecoach stopped at an inn at First and Main Streets, which is now the site of The Hobart Public Library!
